Oops!
Oops!
The concept behind 'Oops!' is the abstraction of something that has been created using a photorealistic technique, which in itself is the opposite of what abstraction traditionally represents. I was interested in exploring this contrast and challenging the viewer's perception.
The artwork invites different interpretations, and each person may see something different within the image. However, what is actually depicted is simply a drop of red and pink paint mixed together, a drop that has fallen from a painter's palette.
The title 'Oops!' refers to that accidental moment when the drop falls. It is intended to evoke the simplicity and spontaneity of a small mistake, almost like the way a child might react by saying "oops!" when something unexpected happens.
